Hello All,
Welcome to my new blog Anand Vaanii which i have started specially for sharing my thoughts and reviews of the Books I read or the Movies and TV shows i stumble upon in these days. I love to watch movies and TV shows and thanks to my mother's genes I also read many books. Although on time to time basis I've shared some of these at my other blogs with small review but i didn't do it regularly for which my mother recommended as I run a specific blog for Comics and books download why don't I start an exclusive blog where I would share my reviews, thoughts and opinion about the things i love.
Mind you I am not a Critic, and you won't find many fancy words in my writing, as I'll try to give a little intro and my thoughts on these things in my easy wordings.
So come an hope along with me in this new journey.
My 1st Post is the review of the Book 'Poisoned Arrow' which is translated from my beloved Ibne Safi's book 'Zahreeley Teer'. I had already written about it at my another blog, but as i've started this blog exclusively for reviews I though I should include this one too as i had written the review only few days ago and this book definitely deserves a place her. So here it goes...
Just read book no. 60 of Ibne Safi's Jasoosi Dunya series titled Poisoned Arrow which is translated from original title Zahreeley Teer. Although very few books of Ibne Safi are available in Hindi or English this book was translated and published by Blaft publication with 3 other books of Ibne Safi.
The book starts with Captain Hameed meeting a guy at a hotel pleading with him to save his life which he believed was in a grave danger, Hameed doesn't give any thoughts to this till the person dies a little after by Poisonous arrow which vanishing mysteriously with all cloths of the guy. In addition to this the face of the guy gets swollen to the level at which he becomes unrecognisable to anyone.
At second place Colonel Faridi is investigating a gang who uses Red Rose signal to run its criminal business when he also comes across a dead body who also got killed by poisoned arrow which again vanishes mysteriously with his clothes and again whose body gets swollen to unrecognizable level.
Colonel Faridi and Captain Hameed start to investigate these suspicious murder with also following up the activities of two separate gangs who Faridi believes were fighting a turf war.
In between they also comes across various mysterious people some of who
m end up being killed by the same method of poisoned arrows.
m end up being killed by the same method of poisoned arrows.
Faridi deduces that this method could be used by an International ruthless Killer 'Doctor Dread', Who doesn't appear in this novel but I belive will be a major antagonist to Faridi in later published novels.
At last the duo were able to solve few mysteries unraveled during this novel although Hameed gets nearly killed during this mystery.
I am a big lover of Ibne Safi Novels. He opens up various plots and stories during the book but keeps us captivated and doesn't us you get bored with the storyline. I've always loves his concise writing which keeps the story intact and doesn't moves from its main goal ever. Although what i liked a lot that although the book could be a part of bigger plot line but Mr. Safi doesn't leave us hanging dry and gives us some closure at the end of the book.
I am eager to start the next book 'Smokewater' translated from Dhuwan in this series and to find what Mr. Safi has in store for this series.
